Better late than Never - Ben's Birthday

So it's been just over a month since my youngest boy Benjamin turned 4! I can't believe my little man is 4! and he is definitely changing into a little man now - no longer a baby.

I apologise for the lateness in posting about this, but my excuse is that I'm still getting the hang of blogging, as well as end of school year events and Christmas and lots of family time!

I know I probably don't have to blog about it, and I could easily just leave things be and no one would know any different, but there was so much work put into this party, I really do have to share with you all the little details! So first things first - Thank you SO much Andrea Bird Browne for all your amazing work and talent!

The first glimpse that this was going to be an amazing party was with the invitations. I couldn't believe them when I saw them. Each child's name etched into the side of the ship. and even a map to the party destination on the back of the sail!

Then, came the day of the party. Apart from the wind which made it a little challenging to set up it was absolutely perfect weather! Check it all out!

Yummy Candy Jars! Pirate Ben Tattoos for everyone! (it even said 'Ben' on the belt!).

The most moist and decadent Chocolate mud cake ever!! and then to make it into a 3D pirate ship, complete with steering wheel, treasure chest, cannon and plank!

Gotta love this reaction to his birthday cake and everyone singing for him!

A few more guests.... and brothers and sister all together!! (don't you just LOVE Andrea's hats and mustaches!!)

 I also decided to take pictures of all the party guests at a little 'photo-booth' we set up. I love that I can print this out as a poster for him and he can remember all the special people who came to his birthday party!

All in all, it was a really happy day! The Birthday Boy was spoiled and had a very memorable and amazing birthday. Thanks to all who came and shared in his special day!

THE FIRST POST ...

Welcome! 

I am excited (yet slightly nervous) about starting this blog! I have never blogged before, and am an absolute novice! I'm learning as I go so please forgive any mistakes and hiccups along the way. I am definitely open to any helpful advice you can give though, so please feel free to leave some feedback!!

Every session I did throughout this last year had a story attached to it, whether it was the reason we were doing the session, or something that happened during the session. So, with each one that I completed, I really wanted to be able to share that story and my own personal experience, but didn't have the courage to jump on to the 'blogging wagon' so to speak. 

SO.... here we are, in the middle of the first post of my 2013 photography journey!

2013 is going to be a big year for me (well, I hope so anyways!), and I want to share it with you and be able to reflect on it all throughout the year. I can't promise that I will only feature client sessions. There might be interesting things I learn about, things I want to share with you etc. we'll just see how we go and take it as it comes.
